Chris,

Nice song. I've never heard it before. Notch up another new song for me.

12 string, great riff, Moody Blues song, Chris' singing = great recipe.

The only disappointing thing was that I couldn't hear it better. The sound quality was muffled, or something.

Thanks for another intro.

Very nice.

Outstanding, Chris!!!

Even with a multitude of excellent posts to your credit (And, there HAS been a lot of 'em.)...this has got to be TOPS!! :woohoo: (I agree with Dennis) That riff sounds AMAZING and is flawlessly executed. Sure it sounds extra heavenly because of the 12. But, that riff/lick (because of the way you executed it) would sound just as good on a $50 pawnshop dog turd of a guitar. (I'm sorry I can't do the conversion to francs.) Wonderful singing as usual! A first-rate performance!! :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

I believe -- at the current exchange rate -- $50 equals 17 Swiss dog turds. They've got large dogs over there, you know.

Loved it. Is that 10 string back up to a 12 string?

Very impressive Chris. While watching I was thinking what great control you had on the pick. Then at the end I saw you had no pick! And then I was doubly impressed!

Many thanks for tuning in folks!

The guitar is tuned down 2 half steps and the strings need changing so that low E string was dead as a Dodo and out of tune. The "Hmmm" at the end was a message to myself as I thought this would be the first run through and apart from me mashing up the lyrics seemed promising. Getting this riff up to speed has been a long road. Basically, every time I would pick up a guitar, I would practice it 5 or 10 times. I have to admit, I have not yet managed to play the song word perfect, riff perfect and flow perfect. There's always something goes astray. Oddly I have trouble holding the lyrics in my mind as I play the riff... normally that's the easy part for me. On this recording I really notice how the camera mic is flattening the sound - it seems to mute the guitar quite a bit. And the upload process has me lisping and shh-ing like Liza Minnelli!

Jay: Many thanks! Not quite up to 12 yet ... just 11 (no low E octave)

Tony: Many thanks for listening in! You will get to know the Moodies song by song ;-)

Willem: Many thanks! Sandman? Hmmm, that's an idea.... that riff has been a challenge and now its feeling good.... I'm so used to using my fingers ... I just use my index finger nail like a pick. I'm actually too chicken to try a pick on this song now that I have the riff under control :-).

Cori: LMAO! Thanks man, I really appreciate your comments and creative expression :-). And Dennis nailed it on the conversion rate!

Dennis: I'm so happy to help you recall your so well spent youth. So glad it wasn't your finger twirling in the hairs of her chest :-). Lying on the floor of my college room with my head between the speakers is also how I best remember the Moodies' songs. Thanks for your very supportive comments. And Cori is right on the one liners... my favourite is "...basking in the love..." which I am doing this morning. I was thinking up my own Dollar/dog-turd conversion rate when your comment arrived. I know when to quit!

Dekotaj: Thanks Kev, my friend, it's been great listening to your posts too this week.

Michele: So happy to be of service... better late than never! Maybe it was just the missing finger in the chest hairs which caused you to miss it first time around. As I mentioned, it never gets radio air-time, you'd have to have had the album. Many thanks for your up-lifting comments.
PS: Remind me to send you a link about some of the things which have been found under rocks recently... you'll be amazed!

Daryl: Many thanks Daryl, its just because I don't handle a pick very well, so my fingers have to make do.
