Hey all!

Well most of you already know by now that I finally had the great opportunity to meet the owner of this thread, our worldtraveller Marc! :cheer:

A few weeks ago he wrote to me, and Willem and Anton, to see if we would be able to meet him. Well the other guys couldn't make it, so I had Marc's company all for myself! :P

He arrived a little before 14.00, of wich I managed to shoot a little clip:

And really, Marc is indeed, as I'm sure several of you know already, a very kind, gentle and sweet man. He also brought me a bottle of wine, wich I'm enjoying very much at this very moment! ;) However, we got along just fine from the very first second till the last. Of course, we chatted some, but had to start playing soon, because his time was limited. Well you can obviously watch the results of that in the videos that we managed to record.

We ended the last take at about 18.15 and as a true gentleman he took me out to dinner, so we drove to town for that. Well as you can imagine, it was also really nice to just talk and socialize and to get to know each other better. Eventually he dropped me back home some time after 21.00 and headed south for another 5 hour drive. :S In the meanwhile I posted the videos.

All in all, we had a great day, lots of music and conversation, and it is a lot of fun to be able to share some of it with all of you!

Yeah but our roads are much smaller so it makes the car look bigger :-)

That was fun! I'm glad you caught that on video. I love these little "behind the scenes" vids.

The car looks way bigger when you try to fit in the small parking spots they have there. Some of the small streets in France or the UK, where there is room for a car and a half (2 way streets) makes you appreciate the small car and the Prius looks quite big . In Some hotel parking spots (between concrete columns) , you have to fold the mirrors the back up the the car. The funny aspect of the Prius is to drive at low speed where there is only the electric motor and you only hear the tires on the asphalt

I have noticed on the autobahn in Germany, on the way to Vanessa, where they do not have speed limit , as you know, that the Prius is not a big car however. I floored it to 194 Km h (124MPH) , it doe not go any higher. I was cruising at 150kmh (95mph) . and some cars were passing me certainly close to twice that speed . The wind shock wave when the fast car were passing me was quite dramatic. When passing another car you have to check way back to see if one of the bullet cars is not coming up as there will be no time to pass the slower car so you have to wait to let them pass, , which does not take long.. Priority is given to the left lane, if you are slowing down anybody, you just step aside quickly. No slow driving on the left there

Hey all! Well, as most of you know, I’ve been lucky enough to have Vanessa visiting me for a few days in Madison. We’ve had a really nice time playing tons of songs and singing together. We wanted to put together one more song to post, and after running through all sorts of choices (Cori- we really did consider doing Summer of ’69!) we decided upon this one. The vocals were a pretty big challenge for me, so I asked to take a pass on playing guitar this one time. The weather here has been very typical for Wisconsin in December, so we built a fire and cozied up to it.

Hope you enjoy!

Ness & Suzi: That clip is exactly why I wanted to learn to play guitar...... :) Not to perform, not to be cool, but to hang with friends, play music and have fun. Watching the two of you have so much fun is certainly a treat for me. Especially this time of year. I am so glad that Ness got to head to Madison for a visit. I really like the way you split up the vocals on this one. Note to Suzi: your vocals were fine on this one and I am positive that you could have played as well. If you can do the Landslide bit you pulled off a while back, then this is WELL within your field. Note to Ness: you rock lady! I love to watch your playing skills and comfort. It is certainly inspiring.

P.S. - Did Ness get to see a REAL big car on this trip????? :P :P

Thanks to both of you for sharing your time spent together with the rest of us.
