Shiny!!! As a fellow "Brown Coat," I was very excited to see your version of The Ballad of Serenity and gorram it, I think you did a bang-up job! I loved the intro and the little solo you put in before the last verse. Your introductory paragraph made me laugh too. Are you some kind of Chia pet, being able to grow a beard in 15 minutes? Regardless, I think the beard suits you, so I hope you decide to keep it for a bit longer.

So - inspired by Michele's space cowboy references, this sprang to mind. And it had a few things going for it;
1. It uses all 5 open major chords
2. The melody line contains (though not consecutively) 4 notes each separated by a semitone; B, C, Db and D. This seemed, to me anyway, an interesting bit of theory - and makes adding a harp solo a little out of my league!

11:30 Finally! A take I was happy with! Hadn't started recording..........
11:31 Threw guitar in the corner and opened a beer
11:45 Started recording song
12:00 Yes - another success........and this time time I WAS recording
12:05 Watched play back - didn't like how I looked. Decided I should grow a beard.
12:15 Grew a beard.
12:20 Finally - the finished video has been recorded.

I'm smiling BIG time. But, what no space cowboy outfit? Captain Renalds isn't using his at the moment...maybe he'll lend it to you when it's not Halloween. Well it's times like this that I wish I knew a little Mandarin... joyful cursing. %#*^>£!@&$? - I'd add Mandarin characters for effect but I might call your dog something terrible.

Fire Fly has got some great music in it. I love the Country, Celtic, Asian fusion, and other influences feel; not that all of those characteristics are in this song.

You ARE a very funny and sweet man. You definitely make me smile...when your posts aren't making me all teary. Thanks for the dedication.

Hi Michele, glad you liked the videos. I would love to be able to participate on this thread, I am ltching to do so, but since my bicep ligament rupture and subsequent operation seven weeks ago, I have hardly been able to lift my guitar never mind play it. I am about half way through my recovery, I have tried to play over the last few weeks, but I get to the point where the pain stops me. Hey Tom. I hope the arm is starting to feel better. Not being able to play must REALLY suck on top of what you're already going through. Very nice Jim. Thanks for the contribution! BTW VERY smooth chord changes from C to G and from Em to G. You are definitely making good progress. Once suggestion based on a recent fly on the wall.....try holding your pick a little less firmly to soften the strumming.

Since some of us here are obviously number challenged maybe the TGmice can rename this thread "Busking 3 or 4 or 5 Chord Songs". Anyway, I'm not going to say anything I'm just going to enjoy the performances.
