Ha Stuart! Gosh, you have such a natural 'coolness' B) all over you, that was really cool and yeah full of humor as well, haha, just great to watch another vid of you!
Jim: Hi Jim, how great of you to add to this thread! Very much liked to see you this close as well. And you keep introducing me to all those Dylan-songs, thanks!
I LOVE THIS THREAD!!!
It is like the gift that keeps on giving! (just like the jelly of the month club)
Stuart: Hahaha!...at least for me, you set new meaning to the words: eclectic, and delightfully unpredictable. One minute you are
performing britney spears. Then you can be seen crooning dark ballads bout Charllie Starkweather; and this time the theme from Firefly??!
Oh my gosh!! You crack me up!
Great job!...loved the legato, mr. Rubato!
Also, I'm diggin the beard! But you don't even need the full-scale grizzly Adams/ZZ-top look to be in the jugband. You've got the goods! Besides, if the naked eye is to be believed you actually arrived at suzi's domecile before either Vanessa or me.
Jimbo- Cool! A very energetic and spirited rendition. Love this song!
Hey, Jim not to be greedy... but how about some tupelo honey for dessert
Michele-hopefully the clean-up going well & your basement swamp is finally drying up for you!
Just wanted to share a fun time wich i had this evening! My friend Corina and I hadn’t catched up ever since Autumn Leaves, so it was about time that we did. So after a couple of hours of talking and chatting (and after several glasses of wine :silly: ) we just spontaneously played and sung some songs. We played songs like Lyin’ Eyes, Desperado, Killing me softly, Words, Run to me, Annie’s song, Hey there Delilah and at one point hit on another Elvis-tune wich I decided to record just for the fun of it. And nope it’s not a 3-4-or even 5-chord-song (sorry Daryl ), but it is an easy song, so like a couple of others I thought what the heck. Like I said, just want to share a spontaneous and fun moment and this thread seems to be the right place for that, hope you’ll enjoy!
Cheers!
Ness
(at the end of the vid, I couldn’t find the button to stop the recording, so I’m saying something like: ‘ now where is the damn thing??!’)
And uh....adding a blooper vid kinda starting at 01.42 (me and my big mouth! We kept going until the end though. Corina's final words: delete, delete! wich I obviously haven't B) ), wich was the first out of three takes (we actually didn't do a playthru or whatsoever, just started the recording), don't remember the timeline though, haha!
At 01.42 I'm saying: 'again! (I meant the bridge)..'well I didn't know' Corina says.......me: he (Elvis) does this (the bridge) two times, yóu are an Elvis-fan, aren't you? 'Yes that's true' Corina replies!
No, that wasn't good or anything, was it? Oh my, seriously got some shivers on that one!! Wow!!! I just felt like I could of floated away on those lush, lilting harmonies!
Beautiful Vanessa & Corina!! Vanessa, I tend to be pretty jealous of your Dutchie pals getting to perform with you all the time. But, I think Corina must be a pretty good egg!
P.S. very glad you posted in this thread...think you hit the nail on the head about the vibe of this thread!
Well that was exactly the response that I was hoping Dennis' video would inspire.
Ness - I SO love it when Corina visits you and then you share it with us. I'm grinning, I'm gushing, I'm feeling the emotion of the song, ...did I mention that I resemble the Cheshire Cat (BIG STUPID GRIN). You make such gorgeous music together. I don't think I could EVER get enough. Just beautiful.. actually more than beautiful.
Ness that was fantastic! I'm a super sucker for harmonies! More please.....even if it's more than 5 chords.......
Yep - Daryl - I reckon you need to remove the chord limit on this thread. I think people get the idea already. I'd hate to think that people who would like to post in it are NOT posting because of the limit. OK I'm a video junkie, I admit it. ... is there a 12-step program? Actually, what am I thinking? I have NO intention of kicking this habit.
A sudden burst of creativity here !
... must be strong ... must resist kryptonite long enough to post reply ...
Stuart, quite an inspired video ... sweet serenity ... thanks for bringing up the subject ... worthy of serious reflection, so why not right now?
... hmmm ... but oh! I just remembered I forgot to pay that bill ... and that crappy weather we're having ... now the news says someone died accidentally in an accident ... my stomach's growling, what's for lunch ... yummy !
Jim, good to see you posting, and I think for the first time with a pick Your rhythm has definitely improved,
and I'm sure you will be experimenting more with your voice in the near future as you continue to gain confidence because it has a lot of potential for this kind of tune.
Nessa and Corina, a lot of fun watching this and even better, it's possible to play these pretty basic chords along with you right off the bat !
You can't take your eye off the ball for a moment at TG, can you! Great thread here which I didn't notice til 4 this morning (couldn't sleep). When a thread gets over 2500 views and 128 replies in 2 weeks, there must be something good inside.
I've been loving these very relaxed, out-there videos where no one is going for perfection but just having some fun with spontaneous stuff... as Pierre said, just passing the guitar around. I've seen a really relaxed Michele having some serious fun, Daryl playing with my girlfriend Amy (how come nobody told me!), Cori showing who's boss in his wife's house (atta girl Krista!), Vanessa as Elvis and on harmonies, Stuart growing a beard live, Jim mixing it up and how much fun was Dennis having being the King? Priceless!
