Hi all ... I dunno if the busking uploader is a bit confused by the change in the name of this thread (addition of chord 5),
because my upload didn't get inserted here automatically but does show on the YouTube TG busking channel.
So I am adding a link to it here.

Here we go, thanks for passing the guitar to me, ladeedaa then on to the next game TGer :)

I chose the tune "Superman's Song" by the band "Crash Test Dummies".

Always loved this song ... and this arrangement(?) is actually 4 chords, so I won't get a fine to pay in the mail I hope. :side:

Pierre

[Edit] Willem asked for lyrics in his response to this video, so here they are:

Tarzan wasn't a ladies' man
He'd just come along and scoop 'em up under his arm
Like that, quick as a cat in the jungle
But Clark Kent, now there was a real gent
He would not be caught sittin' around in no
Junglescape, dumb as an ape doing nothing

[Chorus:]
Superman never made any money
For saving the world from Solomon Grundy
And sometimes I despair the world will never see
Another man like him

Hey Bob, Supe had a straight job
Even though he could have smashed through any bank
In the United States, he had the strength, but he would not
Folks said his family were all dead
Their planet crumbled but Superman, he forced himself
To carry on, forget Krypton, and keep going

Tarzan was king of the jungle and Lord over all the apes
But he could hardly string together four words: "I Tarzan, You Jane."

Sometimes when Supe was stopping crimes
I'll bet that he was tempted to just quit and turn his back
On man, join Tarzan in the forest
But he stayed in the city, and kept on changing clothes
In dirty old phonebooths till his work was through
And nothing to do but go on home

Ahhhh...that's Pierre, Thanks Dermont! Actually, I thought I recognised the guitar (thought it was positioned differently last time), and the glasses.

Pierre,

GREAT song choice. Because I've lived under a rock for so long, I first heard this song quite recently when Cori put the ukulele version video up. It's a cool and fun song.

Well you sure did deliver on the challenge. That was A LOT of fun indeed, and 4 chords to boot (Daryl will be happy :) ).

Nice scene set up by the way, I must give more thought to that.

Well you've inspired me to learn it. Good job!

Thanks!

M.

Aaaah Pierre, very cool!!

For someone who looks so serious throughout the whole video, you still made me smile all the way through. :) :) I think it's because of your funny dry humor and colorful comments wich you often share with us that adds to it. ;)

The song fitted you very well and I very much enjoyed your singing, thanks for adding to the thread after some armtwisting by Michele. Yeah, she has her ways to get certain things done, it never happens to me of course, haha! :P

More numerically challenged people. :( :( Good thing the name of the thread was changed to include "or 5". Pierre, you threw in a Dm there (in addition to the F C Am G)!!

However, if changing the name of this thread has screwed up the busking uploader then hopefully reverting to the original name will fix the uploader.

But....Pierre, that was a GREAT contribution! Loved your stand-up performance and the backdrop (and the fact that you put your clothes back on). Thanks!

I’ve spent a few hours on this forum.
I had great intentions tonight (practicing) but they all went out the window.
What more can I say!
Excuses, excuses, Excuses..... mmmm !
I keep recording but far too many mistakes… it’s ugly, really terrible!
I’m going to stop wasting my time on posting pictures (was that a cheer I heard?)
Motivating and Encouraging

Dermot
Dermot, Start simple: 2 Chords: "Horse With No Name"....or 1 Chord: "Tomorrow Never Knows". Mistakes are OK too.....

Pierre,

Even though your song is more recent, your video reminds me a little of the 60's . . . . . . . it has a psychedelic backdrop that gets a bit blurry at the end.

Thanks for the post,
Hydroman52
