Darryl, what a great idea of a thread. I do not visit very much these days and always for a short time only, but I take always a peak at this thread. Simplicity is always the real source of fun. I enjoyed all your videos: Darryl, Krista and Cori, Ness and Corina, Michele, Dennis: Mr showman, Reiver, Jim, Chris, Pierre: my good man, Buddy, Peter, Mark, Willem and Suzi. I hope I am not forgetting anybody.

The thread has brought joy in my crazy life

Thanks

Marc
Hi Marc, Unfortunately the thread wasn't my idea. We all have to blame Michele. I just kicked it off. It is a fun thread none the less. I hope you will find a moment to add a video (and I hope you life calms down a little).
Hi Darryl , thanks for clearing that up. I apologize Michele for not giving you credit on this great idea. I thought that your video was very entertaining, you were having a blast singing. It will not get quieter for a while, but might find the time for a quick video.

Willem, you gotta tell me what brand of coffee you drink in the morning ... must be a good cure for the winter blues ... how many cups to be able to do that ? :side:

==================================

Suzi, you just cracked me up ... had me laughing in an astonished way, almost soundlessly, through a big open-mouthed grin ... but with a very intelligent attitude of course :silly: .

Great job !

==================================

Chris, nice addition there too ... good beer-hall music !

Marc,

Here is the original thread that kicked off the discussion and pondering And busking.
http://www.totallyguitars.com/forum/8-a ... uff--.html

But, there have been a lot of partners in crime in making this thread a success:

- Daryl - for starting the thread and his great contributions.
- Vanessa - for channeling Elvis and inspiring others to get in touch with their inner Elvis, for showing us just how amazing simple songs can be - she really is a study in how to turn simple stuff into something much more, a real performance. .
- Cori - whose endless enthusiasm and passion for music has kept him coming back with great contribution after great contribution, his mustering calls have been priceless too - and let's not forget Krista and her beautiful voice and patience. :)
- all of the great contributors whose videos keep people coming back to the thread
- all the TG cheerleaders.

I'm sure I'm missing people.

So Marc, the aim of the thread is pretty simple; post a simple song that you love to play. We'd love to see something from you. Join in the fun.

Thanks to everyone for both watching and commenting on my video. I know how much we’re all enjoying this thread and it was fun to be a part of it.

Jim- I have a very soft spot for those early 80s hits. I jokingly threatened Cori that I was going to post Maneater by Hall and Oates. But this song is slightly less cheesy.

Shel- Well, you were the true inspiration for me posting this! I bet you didn’t know the monster you were creating when you started the thread on “easy” songs. For me, it inspired me to add a few more “easy” songs to my arsenal. Now I just need to have a sing along party so that everyone can enjoy them. Wanna come?

Willem- thanks for your kind words. I’m really glad you liked it! I really enjoyed your vid, too!

Dennis- thanks so much for the really kind words. The strum on this song was definitely a bit tricky for me and it took many iterations before I could (relatively) comfortably sing without letting the strum distract me. But it was a lot of fun to work on, so I certainly didn’t mind.

Daryl- Thanks! And an extra thanks to you for actually starting this busking thread! It’s been a lot of fun.

Cori- Thanks, I thought this song was pretty tubular! :) You are totally welcome to take “Land Down Under” and do something with it. I’d love to see what you and Krista manage to make of it. As for a translation of “chunder,” well, maybe you should ask one of the Aussies!

Craig- Right back at you, Mr. Classical Gas! I’m really glad you enjoyed the video. It was certainly fun to do.

MJ- Oh, yeah, I LOVED “Freeze Frame” (that was the “paint” video. That band knew how to make an entertaining music video!). Thanks for your compliments.

Stu/art- I’m happy that you enjoyed my bit of “rawking out.” And to show how much I liked your sweet words about my playing and singing, I’m right now throwing you the horns! (Now where is the metal-head emoticon when you need it?) I’m glad you liked that little lick at the beginning. Your video of the Ballad of Serenity encouraged me to try to add something like this to my song (generally I avoid most “lead” playing, as you know).

Chris- Thanks so much! But you’ll have to ask Tony, Chas and Pierre when the illustrative inlay will be available. I’m glad to hear that I’m not the only one eagerly awaiting it!

Marc- I’m glad you have been enjoying this thread along with the rest of us. I’d love to see you add something to it!

Bob- I’m glad you liked this! Thanks for the compliment on my vocals. They are a work in progress.

Pierre- Glad you liked- and thanks for the inspiration! ;)

It is really true, turn your back for two days (been busy) and you miss out on at least 5 new uploads..... :S

Pete: Many congratulations, your 6th grandchild  :P , how great that you've shared that occasion with us by adding to this thread! Very nice playing and singing and really great to see you again!

Mark: Mark, I thought you were so cool B) ! Your playing was great and relaxed and your singing is getting better and better all the time! I also very much liked that you sat closer to the camera than you usually do. And your intro of course cracked me up, haha   ! Great job Mark!

Willem: Ha Willem! Thanks for adding to the thread with such a great song, yeah a crazy song!! Buttuh....I saw a comment of you the day before that you were going to shave, so growing a beard in one day??? Haha  ! Just teasing you Willem! :P

Suzi: Gosh woman, that was fantástic!!! Loved your performance! You're getting (or at least look like) SO comfortable with the camera, it is really a treat to watch, you really make the audience feel asif they are there, as you know I'm a sucker for that! It was only way too short, from the second that I remembered the lyrics 'na na na na', and joined in, it was over! :( Anyway, summary, I loved it! :cheer:

Chris: Ha, a little german folk-song, that was really enjoyable to hear, really like that type of songs. And of course your singing always sounds gorgeous! (come to think of, I should add a dutch one  !)

Great uploads all! :) :)

Ness- You are a sweetie! I was looking forward to hearing your response to this :) You put a big smile on my face! But I have to say, "Way too short??" I seriously considered ditching the 34d verse because the song felt SOOOO long to me and I was afraid I'd bore you all to tears. I am happy to hear that you lasted to the bitter end :) Next time you visit, we'll throw in the "Na na na na na na" verse that I skipped.

Alright, attempt number three, this time following the rules, getting a song down with just three of four chords! ;) :P

Uhm…...it’s not that I don’t know any…..actually I couldn’t choose :S …..so the vid is a bit long, sorry  ! Then again, if you dig U2 B) , then maaaaybe you might like it!:);)

Cheers

Ness
