Busking 3 or 4 Chord Songs
Hey Jim,
It's so great seeing you working on your strumming and progressing. Daryl's advice is spot on. You might want to put something up for Neil to comment on specifically (in the review channel) so he can give you some more targeted (haha) advice. I'm sure there are lots of members working on their strumming skills.
Good job on getting the harp happening too.
It's always great to see you being inspired.

Hi Jim, man I don't know how you can play harmonica , sing and strum, I know I can't. Great video.
Pierre, you are definitely among the funniest people I know. Where do you get those lines?
Marc, I would rather not meet a moose in mating season looking at me the way you look at the camera at a certain moment of this video !
Great idea ! Ha !

Hey Jim you must have two brains doing all that multi-tasking on this song, definately not easy. Just one small comment, I notice when you are changing cords, I'm not 100% sure, but I think you are rushing the first beat on the new chord. Someone may tell me I am wrong, but that's how it appears to me. Don't be afraid to hit open strings inbetween chords and I believe you will have way more time than you think you have to get to and play the next chord. Loosen the grip a little on the pick and let your wrist do more.
Enjoyed this song B)

Re: You Ain't Goin Nowhere, Thanks for the posts:
Daryl - Thanks for the tip on strumming
Kevin - Thanks for the comment. I actually also had just off-camera a cowbell from my son's drumset, but couldn't work it in to the song and I didn't want to hang it around my neck
Cori - I am a novice on the harmonica - That was a G harmonica. If you blow on any 3 adjacent holes you will get a G chord, as it is all G-B-D. If you draw on 4,5,6 you get A,C,E respectively. I haven't practiced enough on it to play individual notes. What i was trying for was getting my mouth on the middle of the harmonica and blowing for the G chord and drawing for the Am & C. It sounded a little shrill to me. Yet another thing for practicing and experimenting with a different microphone.
Vanessa - Thanks! I think I read on another thread that you play the harmonica on some songs. Would love to see that!
Pierre - I think you got that right with the word 'gradually'.
Shel - Thanks for the comment. Good point, I seem to do more on the busking of non-target songs. Will have to work on some target songs.
Marc - appreciate the comment
Willem - once you finish binding, let's see the dylan song
Tom - I think I do rush the chord changes. All of these comments about doing so many things at once is a bit of an a-ha moment. I think I am trying to do too much at once and need to break things down and work on some of the basics one at a time until I can put it all together.

Jim,
Nice job! I think the harmonica is extremely cool. I've never even attempted to play one but you sure make me want to investigate...I have a hard enough time trying to sing and play, I'm not sure my brain can handle that! Good post! Tangled Up in Blue is next?
