Excellent job, Marc. That's a song I've been humming since the day it appeared on the radio in 1958. You do a really nice job maintaining a torrid pace of chord changes throughout this song, keeping it nicely on tempo.

Ha! That was great Marc! A truly fun song to play (and a good chord changing exercise to play along with) and great to see your version - a very worthy addition to the thread.

Marc, that was FANTASTIC!!! I know that is a super easy song for you, but you really put on a great performance. I loved the intro and really loved your singing!! And your parting words made it especially fun!

Thanks for posting this, Marc!

Michele, that was beautiful ... and fun :). Good that you did not fret over minor imperfections !
I wonder, do you often find a bit of doubt creeping in at about two thirds through playing a tune?
It's like "Hey, this is going alright, surely something will mess up soon" !
Happens to me like clockwork ... knowing to expect this is starting to help a bit.
Well sung and played ! Such progress, you can be proud.
Yeah, pass the guitar around !

Marc, I'm really impressed at your vocals, you are improving by leaps and bounds :)
You have a knack for the involved picking and strumming in tunes like this.
Nice latin addition to the mood here, really well done !

How about something closer to home for me ... a tune in French ?
Well, almost ... it's a bit of a hybrid, as you'll see.

The song is "I Lost My Baby", by a popular local Quebec singer songwriter named Jean Leloup.

He is a kind of "tortured poet" type, and the song has autobiographical flourishes.

I added english subtitles, for what that's worth: translating poetry is at best very difficult, often impossible.

And it's surely appropriate to link to the original version:

Great job, Pierre! I loved hearing the french bits of the song especially. Your strumming is very cool in this song!
