Hey there, Michele. :) :) :)

This was very enjoyable!! Great Playing! Very Nice Singing!
I have watched it a number of times and got a kick out of it each time.
Krista really liked it too.

I have a friend who claims to have met the lead singer of this band on multiple occasions...It would seem he was, (at least at one time) a frequent patron of StarBuck's Coffee in the greater Chicagoland Area.

Also, I want to say thank you for your thoughtful pm. Daryl, you as well.
And Daryl, that was a really useful idea you had about organizing & streamlining the busking 3 & 4 chord thread. That mades it so much nicer!

Hey Michele,

Good job on Delilah. It's a clever and simple song . . . . until you have to play and sing it at the same time. Jerry and I have done this one, and that's how I know. I usually muck it up. Great opportunity to add vocal harmonies, too.

Thanks for posting,
Hydroman52

For those who care or are interested I created an "index of songs" in the initial post of this thread as this thread is now 40 pages long and no one is going to wade though all 40 pages to look for a particular song....and besides I had some spare time this morning and I felt like going through all the videos again.

FYI as of Michele's "Hey There Delilah" post there has been 53 songs performed. I hope there will be more coming!
Hey Daryl,

Here’s a thought to expand on your index idea. You could actually copy and paste links that point directly to the corresponding video in your index, then a person could jump directly to a song. When I click on the links, a new TAB is opened in my browser, so your index remains open. Works slick for me.

To get the video links to copy, just go to the posting in this thread and click on the number in the upper right hand corner of the posting, then highlight the link in your browser’s address bar, then use the copy function to copy to the clipboard, then paste it into your first post where appropriate.

Here is an example (I believe it took me less than a minute to compile this example in my word processor):

Anyway, it's food for thought, but just one more thing to do and maintain.

Rick, Thanks! Doing the actual links will GREATLY improve the index. Next time I have a little spare time I'll add the links.

Thanks guys for your great responses to my upload. They've kept me smiling.

Buddy - Sorry to make you work so hard mate. :) A little pay back :). I'm glad you liked it and thanks for being so sweet.

Hydro - FANTASTIC suggestion on the links. That's made Daryl's index even more useful. Now I have no excuse for not learning a heap of great straightforward songs. And...simple...until you have to sing it indeed ... Sing it and breathe. Thanks.

Cori - You're a sweetie! Thanks! So the lead singer is a Starbucks fan... Well you've got to love someone with a coffee addiction, they're fine folks...no really. Just ask me. :) I've fallen in love with another of their songs. BTW - We've reserved a few places in this thread for you. There's a new target you know. 100 songs. Got an itch?? :);):)

Daryl - You've been a busy man. The index is way powerful now. GREAT work and thank you!

Shel

I had to add Buddy's "Let It Be" to this thread for completeness. A 4 chord song. I hope you don't mind Buddy.

Hi All

I can't believe I missed this thread until recently. I spent an hour looking through it earlier and all I can say is wow, and wow and wow. There are some seriously talented people filling up this thread with great songs- well done everybody.

I need to go find a singer ( because when I sing it sounds like a bag of spanners being thrown down a staircase), learn some 3 or 4 chord songs and get a video on here. I have a song in mind, I'm off to bribe/blackmail someone, so I can join this awesome busking community.

Shel,

What a heel I feel (like). For reasons I can't understand I have totally missed your great upload of Delilah and only picked it up on Youtube this afternoon sitting like a fat buddah on the couch. Please forgive me.

What a GREAT effort. You cappoed it just right for your voice and I reckon that is one of your strongest vocal performances. I actually reckon it isn't as easy as it looks but you certainly made it look very easy.

Your improvement in front of the camera is very, very obvious. I can't praise you enough for your hard work, well done.

Sorry once again for picking it up 5 days late!

Tony - Well that was a great big heart-felt grovel you big oaf! B) :P No need to apologise. I figured you were just off doing your blues thing. No one can keep up with everything that's happening on this site. Thanks for being so supportive, so sweet about my playing AND singing. I'm certainly glad you liked it.

Joe - There are lots of us singing in our videos now who also feel like our singing is crap. Just do it! I'm sure it's not the calamity you make it out to be. Of course if you can coerce a singer to perform with you that's all good, but don't let that stop you from uploading something. That would be very cool.

M.

MicheleThanks for the kind words about singing. The truth is that it taked all my concentration and more just to play guitar! Apparently when I'm playing my breathing goes all shallow, so I think singing, breathing and playing may make me pass out. I have been known to multi-task, but never when playing guitar-I cant even hold a conversation while playing. If I can get someone to sing, or I can work out how to do it, then I'll post it on here.

Thanks

Joe
