Hold on, I can’t get to the phone
Am I in the shower, or just stringing you along
May be away, or just ignorin’ your call
Just know I’m not at home
Leave a message at the tone.

Settle down, it’ll all be clear
Don’t pay no mind to my singing, if it fills you with fear
Telemarketers they do drag me down
So just get lost, I will never be found.
Just know I’m not at home
Leave me a message at the tone.
Al,,fantastic,,there is a singer song/writer in you,,And I still think you must start your own band...

Just great! You had me laughing out loud halfway through... good to see and hear you back in form Stu!

Kev! That was great – and a real treat to see you back here. Don’t you listen to Suzi, those Cincinnati pants looked great

I should have known that my request for little rhyming couplets that anyone could do would fall on deaf ears and the creative people here at TG would excel once again. But I guess it’s only fair that I should have a go – so here it is.

Lyric
It's not that I don't want to talk with you
It's just that I am not around
But I will surely call you later
If you leave your details at the sound

Yes, I wish I could have talked with you
But I could be working or asleep
Or eating cake* in Australia
So leave your message at the beep

Of course it may be I don't like you
And I'm sick and tired of your voice
You may be dull and irritating
And us not talking is my choice

You’re always looking for a favour
Because of you I’m on the booze
So I may just erase your message
And blame those Nobody’s Home Blues**

I shut my phone off 'cause I don't give a damn.
You are the phone equivalent of spam.
You take my mind right back to Vietnam.
I do decline -- I cut the line.

I let it ring for telemarketers.
You won't believe how often it occurs.
I've called my congressman, and he concurs,
you've got no spine -- I cut the line.

And another winner! Great job Al with the voices and whole set up.

PS: Is it me or does this thread have an awful lot of pages already... did the page lengths get shortened in order to save time loading? Hmmm, I'm not sure more pages helps find things...
