OK, here's my worry.
Just because I had the money to pay for this, doesn't make me qualified to attend this event.
I feel like with all these great teachers and presenters, I'm way, way, way out of my league.
:(

I've never attended any kind of guitar camp before.

I don't think you have anthing to worry about Auntlynnie. If you knew as much as the faculty, you would be, well, on the faculty. I don't think there is an expectation or requirement that the students are equally proficient as the teachers. I am also quite certain that whatever your level is, you will leave the camp a better player and musician. Since you have never been to a guitar camp before, prepare to be enlightened in a manner hard to describe.

I wandered into a guitar festival three years ago expecting to be an interested spectator. I quickly found out it was put on by artists for artists, and it was very interactive. In no way should I have been there, but I came away musically changed forever.

I have always said that education isn't the sum all learning; it is learning how to learn, and TG is really good at it. Although there is an immense amount of music to learn at TG, you will not learn all there is about music here. But when when exposed to other musical environments, you will understand just what a magnificent job Neil has done at teaching us how to learn about music.

You will be fine. Don't fret it. :silly:

I haven't been to a camp before either, but that seems like a good reason to go don't you think?

You go to hopefully take something away with you that will make you a better player. I am going
for the overall experience and the atmosphere and to meet TG members and to be inspired by great teachers.
So in that case we are all way out of our leagues. This isn't a competition and there are no exams, so don't fret. (no pun intended) :)

Learning to play guitar, you are only competing with yourself to improve. Anyway, we have all seen you play, what are you worried about? :)

I am sure you will have a great time.

Hey Lynn,

I was thinking along the same lines- how could I possibly fit in with all these fantastic students? How could anybody come up with the answers to the problems of the universe that they will be asking about. I have to say I was certainly relieved to see that you were coming as I knew then there would be at least one friendly face.

Lynn:

I am nervous for the same reasons, but I can't think of a better place to give it a go. You know from personal experience, how Neil is, so that should ease your mind a bit... B)

Whatever level any of us may be, we can all get something from this event. Rest assured, that whatever areas of the guitar that you feel shy about, there will be others there that feel the same... ;)
