OK, It's Go-Time

TG started our International Guitar Camp in 2013 and now are hosting two each year, our Spring Camp at the end of April and our Fall Camp in early September.

They say the only stupid question is one you don't ask. Since it's time to pack, I want to drop the assumptions and challenge the obvious. So , I ask you, TG, do we need to bring these items with us for the sessions?

1. chair
2. guitar stand
3. music stand
4. TG lesson sheets, and which, if yes
5. metronome
6. the reference books (Guitar Handbook and Fingerstyle Guitar Method)
7. notebook

What is the weather in the local area? Should we be thinking exceptionally heavy or light clothing, jackets and coats, extra blankets, etc?

Can someone get sent to their room for lousy play?

Can anyone else add to this list?

Hi Gang,

Some answers-
Chair- only if it is really special and you can't play without it. There will be plenty.
Music Stand- bring a folding one if you have it, we will have a few
Guitar Stand- optional, if it's easy to pack
TG Lesson sheets- maybe ones you might have questions about
Metronome- probably won't be using them as a group but maybe for practice, as if there will be time to practice
Books- same as lesson sheets, good source of questions and answers, might want to get Alex to autograph his book
Notebook- not a bad idea

The weather should be great in the Santa Cruz Mountains as autumn descends. It should be comfortable enough to play outside well into the evening. Windbreaker or sweatshirt might be helpful.

If it's easy to pack bedding do it, they will provide stuff for those that need.

Another big thing that will help everybody: Bring questions or problems that need to be solved.

For playing outside:

If you are playing from music sheets or charts or tabs, sometimes clothes pins are handy to keep the paper from blowing away.

For playing at night, I am trying to find it, I think I have a small light that clips on a music stand.

flashlights

(I know there are often fire restrictions in CA during the fire season), but speaking of campfire songs, does the camp have an outdoor firerplace?
