Thanks everyone! One of the best things to come out of IGC 2013 was the unbelievable support we all got from each other. Even when we blew a performance. Watching it again is painful but as the very first time I've ever played in front of a bunch of people, especially fellow guitarists, it was a great learning experience. I can't believe how frightened I was to sit there alone and play a song I've played thousands of times in my living room and then literally forget the song. And to overcome the almost Pavlovian urge to stop and then start again. You just can't do that live!!

Then there was Neil, incredibly supportive, going around the room talking to each of us who were so disappointed in how we performed, yet offering suggestions and kind words. For my friends here who didn't get to experience IGC 2013 if you think the guy that teaches all these lessons on Totally Guitars is a class act, you should see him in person. I haven't met many people in my life as supportive as Neil. And the whole group fed on this. What a great group of people.

Personally, I can't wait to get back this year and try to do better, much better, than this "performance".

Happy playing to you all!

Cheers! :cheer:

Hi Rick

It is more than just a little bit terrifying to play in front of other people but I thought you looked relaxed and confident and you played really well. Good job

These are coming out quick enough now that I have missed several open mic performances. I will catch up this weekend...

Great job Rick! Loved your playing and singing. We will put an electric in your hands with some special grass from the 60's and watch you rock out. I bet all the nerves would be gone then :)

All kidding aside, I really enjoyed watching you.

Rick, brought back great memories. I actually remember your rendition specifically and watching again will get be back onto this familiar song to add something other than strumming the rhythm. Thanks, Chan
