Claire and Tom Collaboration 'Pretty Flowers'. An original song.

Pretty Flowers......

This is a collaboration between my daughter and I. I wrote this song about a month ago with a lot of encouragement from Sandy and Michelle. I just recorded it last night. The song is about someone who is contemplating their earlier than expected demise (Cheery right? )

The song is performed solely by Claire. Enjoy...........

I'm in perfect agreement with Bob, great job by both of you. Very strong lyrics, Tom. And you couldn't ask for a better performer than Claire to deliver your song. Congratulations and thanks for sharing.

WOW! I didn't catch all of the words, but I sure felt the emotion. That's a real tear-jerker.

You've got a great songwriting team there. And oh my! Claire's performance, her singing especially just shoots straight through to the heart strings. The soaring chorus and harmonies are especially powerful.

Thanks for the words Tom. You've got some nice imagery in there. The mix of nature in the summer and the sadness of leaving is a nice juxtaposition.

One suggestion - almost all of the images are about the seasons and nature generally. The reference to the highway suddenly takes you to an unnatural environment. A river or walking track or something you travel along in nature would make the line more consistent with the rest of the song.

I see what you mean Shell. The Highway refers to the journey the person is on. It ends where it ends.

I really like that it is so far from the beauty of nature. Contrast if you like.
