I really enjoyed that. I love that song. Not easy to change keys like that. Keep up the good work.

Willem - Thanks for the comments. No offense taken on the singing. I will probably take a singing class at a guitar camp one of these years. It's just been a lower priority so far. And there is a lot to think about on the vocals - what is your range, starting on the right note, melody, singing with emotion/feeling - where to start?

Daryl - Thanks for the encouragement. I do play occasionally with a pick, but still feel more comfortable without one. I have also been working on different strumming styles. This song is probably better suited to a ballad strum. I also tried adding a bounce. But, my default strum seems to be the folk strum. I find that once I start singing, my right hand reverts to the folk strum. I need to practice more to learn how to sing while doing other strums.

Marc - Thanks for the comments - Good to see you also doing your rolling stone video.

Kevin, Jay, and Bob - Thanks for watching!

It aint easy, the guitarplaying must go auto pilot, also I think you must sing the song a thousand times along with the orginal and without the guitarplaying , for finding out your range you could sing a scale along with an piano and mayby sing do re mi fa so la ti do, starting in C3 and C4, fun to do is also singin intervals, maybe the intervals in a chord,,or find a simple song with all kind of intervals,

The only practice I have is the choir I'm in,but that kind of practice has always to do with the songs we try to sing,in the choir singin is no problem, you do that with a group, when I try it as an solist it can be a disaster..

Goodluck

I hear Bob Dylan just released a new CD of Frank Sinatra songs - that's fine. I probably won't learn any of those.

But, here is a song from 50 years ago - Outlaw Blues from the 1965 Album Bringing It all Back Home

Jim, That was just fantastic! What an absolutely huge improvement in your rhythm playing! You definitely were in a groove. I could tell you were feeling the groove. Excellent job! Keep your posts coming. Thanks.

You're an special person Jim, like Dylan.

I agree with Daryl, maybe this is your strum, DDUUDU, its a great strum and you can play it from slow to fast.
