My youthful singing adventures notwithstanding, I came into the idea of making music rather late in life and I was struck by so many folks sharing images from such a young age. Very cool.
One thing that did happen for me, though, was marrying into a rather musical family whose members have been unfailingly encouraging and inspiring to me. I wanted to laud them and the impact they've made on my life.
I shared that image of "The Band" from my wedding reception; well, here are Jim and Mike in their heyday when they played the Utica music circuit as the duo Sterling Thomas:

And this is Jim playing lead to my rhythm as I serenaded my new bride with "Your Song" by (duh) Elton John:

Jim has been especially encouraging and helpful to his knuckle-headed brother-in-law and I owe him no small debt in helping me realize "I can do it."
